me_w_z1_small.jpgMike Luzansky is the owner of H2O Photo Pros, a division of Depth & Altitude, Inc. based in Southern California. He is a freelance Underwater Cinematographer and Photographer.

His love for the oceans began as a young child while reading books, watching the Discovery Channel and visiting Sea World a couple of times a year. At the age of 17 and ready to graduate High School, Mike decided to pursue his dream of swimming with sharks and dolphins, and take scuba lessons with his savings for the High School Prom. His first underwater camera was purchased the same week of his certification dives, in lieu of purchasing his own Scuba equipment.

At the age of 18, he became a SSI Dive Control Specialist and immediately after turning 21, became an SSI Advanced Open Water Instructor. He is an active instructor in the Scuba Industry, a Closed Circuit Rebreather diver, Freediver and High Definition Video Specialist. To date he has logged over 1,500 dives in his 7 years of diving.

His travels have taken him around the globe to exotic locales such as Fiji, Costa Rica, Bahamas, British Columbia, Philippines, and more. Mike can be found leading group trips around the world, as well as teaching Scuba and Underwater Imaging classes in Southern California.

Mike is currently shooting a Panasonic HVX 200 High Definition camcorder in a Gates Housing with the Green Force Squid 250 HID lights and the Fathom Super Wide Port. For stills, he is shooting the Nikon D200 DSLR in a Sea & Sea Housing with Dual YS-110 strobes for macro, and dual YS-250 strobes for Wide Angle, Ultralight arms and the Sea & Sea TTL Converter.

jillian & eel.jpgJillian grew up on a lake in Maine and her love for water started at an early age. Snorkeling with manatees at the age of 9 solidified here desire to work with marine animals. An internship with Mote Marine Lab's Center for Shark Research sparked her continuing exploration & research of sharks around the world.

After graduating from the University of New England with a degree in behavioral biology, she took a job as divemaster/naturalist & crew on a research vessel based in Key West. Onboard Jillian worked with Captain Tim Taylor, National Geographic, Mote Marine Lab, Wes Pratt & Jeff Carrier, Sylvia Earl, NOAA, National Marine Sanctuaries, Dr. Samuel Gruber and REEF. It was during this time that Jillian was first introduced to underwater photography and video. Projects included deep reef exploration, National Geographic Critter Cam deployment, lemon shark tagging and study, nurse shark tagging and study, Atlantic spotted dolphin observation and video and several Explorer's Club Flag Expeditions.

Jillian then traveled to California as a naturalist and onstaff biologist for white shark cage diving in the Farallon islands. Working with Incredible Adventures and Ocean Outreach, a non profit organization, she taught passengers the importance of conservation. Working with the same companies she now leads tiger shark cage dives in the Bahamas.

Upon returning to South Florida, Jillian bought her first underwater camera setup and began shooting her adventures. Her next destination was a remote part of Western Australia as part of the Shark Bay Ecosystem Research Project. Shark Bay is home to the largest seagrass beds in the world and provides a unique ecosystem comprised of tiger sharks, marine turtles, dugongs, rays & dolphins. The project involved tagging, observation, video, photography, tracking and analysis of tiger sharks and marine turtles. In between travel and research projects, Jillian continued her dive education and eventually earned her rescue diver, divemaster & Open Water Scuba Instructor Certifications. Her photos have been published on Forbes Online and in Sport Diver Magazine. Jillian joined the H2O Photo Pros staff as a dive expedition leader and onstaff marine biologist. She is also available for underwater modeling.

Andrew Sallmon

andyfullgear.jpgAndrew Sallmon is a freelance underwater and nature photographer specializing in images of marine life and the marine environment.

His love of the sea has taken him all over the world looking for ways to capture dynamic portraits of its creatures large and small. He hopes that through the viewing of these images people will someday learn to appreciate and understand the awesome beauty and fragile nature of the oceans and to ultimately change some of the detrimental practices of humankind toward the sea.

A native of California he spends much of his time diving and photographing the rich temperate waters of his home state but also travels abroad several months each year to create new images for his stock file. A Scuba Instructor since 1980, he picked up his first underwater camera that same year and slowly converted from underwater hunting to the challenges of underwater photography. It was the slower pace of observing and trying to approach marine life closely that helped him to see and understand the intricacies and miracles of the ocean ecosystem. As he learned to appreciate the living sea, his photographic skills also grew and now he is one of a fortunate few that earn a living as an underwater photographer. His work has been featured in hundreds of books, magazines, calendars, posters, catalogs and advertisements. In addition, some of his images are on display at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Smithsonian Institute.

Andy's camera ais comprised of 2 Canon 5D cameras with Sea & Sea Housings, a set of YS120 and YS110 strobes, and of course the Sea & Sea TTL Converter!
