Wakatobi is a small archipelago southwest of Sulawesi. This Central Indonesian paradise offers endless unique diving, photography, and videography moments to capture. After capturing the scenes with your camera, or brain, share them nightly with others in a world class destination. There will generous prizes by the sponsors, which include, but are not limited to, Amphibco, Sea & Sea, Mares, H2O PHOTO PROS, ULTRA LIGHT as well as some yet to be announced. The activities include, nightly image and video review; photo, video and editing workshops; and weekly photo and video contests.

So where better to hold an underwater photo and video festival! (Read the DPG report from our recent trip to Wakatobi.) You can choose to spend a week on board the Pelagian live aboard, or 11 days at Wakatobi resort - or both! There's plenty of opportunity to participate and hone your underwater photo or video skills among some of the healthiest reefs in the world. ______________________________ UNLIMITED SHOOTING While at the resort, photographers and videographers will be able to focus on wide angle and macro all day long, both on scheduled boat dives or on the world famous house reef, consistently referred to as the best house reef in the world. Guests aboard the Pelagian will dive further into the archipelago, including a recently discovered muck site. Most evenings will be set aside for reviews and screenings of the day's images and videos. Three workshops will be held during each week for novice to intermediate shooters who wish to polish up on some of the essential skills needed to capture the beauty of the life on the reefs. H2O Photo Pros will be on site both weeks with the latest underwater photo & video gear available for in-water demos, and Mike Luzansky will be providing underwater video workshops along with the underwater photo workshops by Jason Heller. ______________________________ PHOTO & VIDEO CONTEST Both weeks will culminate in a contest where each participant can enter their best images and videos from the week for a chance to win over $10,000 in prizes! The "shootout" format will be split into "open" and "novice" categories. Participants found harassing the reef or otherwise being environmentally unfriendly will be automatically disqualified. We locked in 2007 rates by booking this event early. You can participate during the first week on the Pelagian live aboard (SOLD OUT!) (Mar 28 - Apr 4), 11 nights at Wakatobi resort (Apr 4 - 15), or both. Guests booking both weeks enjoy a 10% discount on the 11 night trip at the resort. A non-refundable deposit of $1,500 pp/ per trip, is required to secure your spot. * All rates on this page are per person. Air charter flight is required for each person. Garden Bungalow $2,840 USD - Located slightly behind the Beach and Premium bungalows these offer more shade after a long day in the sun on the boats. Comfortably appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Beach Bungalow $3,090 USD - Similar size as the Garden Bungalows, but located front-row, facing the south beach. The breeziest choice for those not wanting to use the AC. Premium Bungalow $3,290 USD - Front-row beach location on the west-facing sunset beach. Premium Select Bungalow $3,840 USD - Front-row beach location on the west-facing sunset beach with completely rebuilt interior. Excellent and - some say - on par with the cliff villas, just not as spacious. Cliff Villa $4,340 USD - Situated aside from the rest of the resort, perched on the coral cliffs.
